Product Description
Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV) is a respiratory therapy that delivers small bursts of air into the lungs to help loosen and move mucus from the airways. This therapy supports airway clearance and helps improve breathing for patients with conditions that make it difficult to clear lung secretions.
IPV is often used as part of a regular respiratory care routine to help keep the lungs clear and functioning more effectively.
Respiratory Conditions Commonly Treated
IPV therapy is commonly used for patients who have difficulty clearing mucus from the lungs, including:
- Cystic Fibrosis (CF)
A genetic condition that causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs. - Bronchiectasis
A chronic condition where damaged airways lead to mucus buildup and frequent infections. - Neuromuscular Disorders
Conditions that weaken the muscles needed for an effective cough, making airway clearance more difficult.
