Wave Healthcare understands the impact on our families when certain products and supplies are not available. Patient safety is our top priority, and we want to make sure as many patients as possible can continue with daily routines and regiments, with as little disruption as possible.
Cardinal Health is no longer going to manufacture the Kangaroo Joey pump, and at this time, are experiencing global supply chain challenges affecting the support of this legacy feeding set platforms. Aging componentry and difficulty in sourcing parts has significantly decreased the availability of these supplies to our patients. While there are some alternative feeding bags that may be used, these too, will eventually be impacted, and their availability may be limited as well.
For the time being, we are asking families to be aware of the following:
- Due to the manufacturer back order of your Joey feeding bags, you might be receiving a different size or style of feeding bag.
- You might also notice a decrease in quantities due to shortages in supplies from the manufacturer.
- We encourage you preserve your feeding bag by rinsing the bag thoroughly in case multiple uses are required.
- If you receive an EPUMP feeding bag you will need to hang the bag 18 inches above pump instead of 6 inches from your normal feeding bag.
