Sumayia is the Registered Dietitian at our Houston branch.

She completed her Post-Baccalaureate Dietetic Program and internship at the University of Houston. During her internship, she underwent rigorous training in various areas of nutrition including the Children’s Nutrition Research Program at Baylor College of Medicine, Outpatient Nutrition Care at Harris Health System, and In-Patient Clinical Nutrition Program at Memorial Hermann Hospital. At the end of the internship, she successfully passed the registration exam and became a Registered Dietitian.

Before becoming an RD, Sumayia graduated with an MBBS degree (United States Equivalency: Doctor of Medicine) and completed residency training at the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar. It was at this point in her career that Sumayia developed an interest in nutrition and a passion for pediatric care.

Summayia understands how important it is for a child to maintain healthy balanced nutrition, as this is the foundation of growing and becoming a healthy adult. Because of this, Sumayia is happy to contribute her years of knowledge and experience toward the thriving of the pediatric patient population at Wave Healthcare!
