Audrie's Story
By Hope O.
Audrie’s story is one of faith, resilience, and the unbreakable power of love. Born a twin, she entered this world with a rare condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, which affected the way her joints and muscles developed. But from the very beginning, Audrie had a spark—one that would carry her through challenges most of us could never imagine.
At just 16 months old, her journey took a devastating turn. A battle with bacterial meningitis left her with severe cognitive delays, seizures, chronic lung failure, and the need for a ventilator and trach. Life as we knew it changed in an instant. The road ahead was uncertain, filled with medical appointments, sleepless nights, and moments of sheer fear.
But if there’s one thing about Audrie, it’s this: she is a fighter.

Despite every diagnosis, every prognosis, every moment where the odds seemed impossible — Audrie has continued to shine. She has a joy that can’t be dimmed, a presence that fills every room with warmth. It’s why so many call her “Sunshine” —because when you’re with Audrie, you can’t help but feel the light she carries.
This past summer tested her and us in ways we never thought possible. A bowel perforation led to sepsis, a battle that stole months from her but never stole her spirit. She spent the summer in the hospital, her body fighting, our prayers unceasing, and our community standing with us—lifting us, holding us, believing with us.
And once again, God carried her through. Through the darkest of nights, through the uncertainty, through the pain—He was there. And He continues to be. Every triumph, every smile, every moment Audrie gifts this world with her presence is a testament to His grace.
Audrie is 14 years old now, and though the road is never easy, she continues to teach us all what it means to trust, to persevere, and to love without limits. She is our sunshine, our miracle, and a reminder that God’s hand is in every story… even the hardest ones.

We give all the glory to Him, for every breath, every smile, every single day.
And we thank our incredible community and team, who has walked this journey with us—praying, supporting, loving. We couldn’t do this without you. Audrie is here. She is shining. She is a living testimony of God’s goodness.
To My Fellow Special Needs Parents: You Are Not Alone
If you’re walking a similar road, I want you to know a few things:
-Take it one day at a time. The future can feel overwhelming, but God gives grace for today.
-Find joy in the little things. Celebrate every small victory—every giggle, every new skill, every moment of connection. They are all miracles.
-Lean on your community. Let people help. Let them pray for you, bring meals, sit with you at the hospital. You don’t have to do this alone.
-It’s okay to grieve and be grateful at the same time. There will be hard days. Days when you feel like you can’t do it anymore. But there will also be moments of unimaginable love and beauty. Hold on to those.

-Your child is a gift. No diagnosis, no struggle, no challenge can ever take away the incredible light that your child brings to this world. They were created with a purpose… and so were you.
Audrie is proof that God’s love is bigger than any trial. She is our reminder that even in the hardest seasons, there is light, there is joy, and there is always hope.
