Wave Healthcare would like to inform our families of the new guidelines from the Global Enterprise Device Supplies Association (GEDSA) regarding feeding tubes and supplies. 

In an effort to improve patient safety and guard against accidental medical tubing misconnections, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed the ISO 80369-3 enteral connector standard.  The new ENFit enteral feeding connector is compliant with this standard. Wave Healthcare acknowledges the benefits of the unique design of the new ENFit system and what it will do to help us provide the highest level of safety for our patients. 

We are currently working to develop a conversion plan.  Your Wave Healthcare Case Manager will be kept up to date as to when ENFit products are available and will keep you informed as supplies including connector ends on all feeding bags, extensions, feeding tubes, and enteral syringes will be transitioned.  Our expert clinicians will work with you to ensure you have all the information and training needed to feel comfortable and confident with these changes.
